La City of Arts and Sciences is an architectural, cultural and entertainment complex of the city of Valencia (Spain).
The complex, designed by Santiago Calatrava and Felix Candela, was inaugurated on 16 in April of 1998 with the opening of El Hemisférico. The last major component of the City of Arts and Sciences is the Agora, located between the Pont de l'Assut de l'Or and l'Oceanogràfic. Its construction is currently being finalized.
The City of Arts and Sciences is located at the end of the old Turia riverbed (Jardin del Turia), a channel that became a garden in the 1980 years, after the diversion of the river by the great flood of Valencia in the year 1957 . It is, today, the largest tourist attraction in the city of Valencia. It is also from 2007, one of the 12 Treasures of Spain.
